exterior rear view mirrors

I have defrost on these mirrors, but don't know how to turn them on.
Also, I want to put some small fisheye mirrors on them. Can I cover the defrost symbol that's on the inside lower portion?

You can cover up the symbol no problem..... Bottom right of the fan knob, below the front defrost is the button you use to turn on the mirror defrost.
