Extra Weight in the Bed?

Why right over the rear axle?You want the full benefit of the weight it should be right at the back.Leverage,simple physics.
If I put it at the back it blocks me from putting anything in the box. I use my truck as a truck, I'm frequently putting stuff in the box. If it's above the axle I can still use half the box.

I used to put 250-300lbs of sand in the back of my 2wd trucks which would really help out, With my 4x4 RAm I don't need it.

I do one 60lb bag of utility sand. 4WD is great for snow, but you never know when the melt will refreeze and you need the extra weight to keep the back wheels from spinning.

As state above I can always use the sand when getting started too.
