I have discovered that the QTP electric cutouts can't handle the new exhaust pressure of the F1-A Procharger. I blew out the set I had been running for 2 years just before the new blower went on so I replaced the butterfly valves with the kit from QTP. Well, new blower making 16 psi and a lot higher exhaust temps is apparently a bad combo for the QTP since I literally blew the replacement butterfly valves off so I replaced the entire assembly and bent the butterfly valves on the new cutouts in less than a month. Guess I'm going back to plane old bolt-on/off cutouts for track days only. I will miss them since I LOVE the cutouts, especially when I pull into shows or meets.

That's unfortunate..

Sorry to be a little side tracked but how do the cutouts do for exhaust leaks? I've always had manual cutouts and one electric one but it wasn't a QTP and it leaked all the time no matter what. That "ticking" drives me nuts.

What do you have in the way of an exhaust system? Cats? Mufflers?

These are real men problems...haha.

Kurtis, I havent seen any updates recently. Truck running strong with the new blower? I'm ready to see you make a few passes down the 1/4 mile.

I loved my QTP electric cutouts too but they didn't seem to like lake water too much either...

I never had any issues with them when I was low boost or N/A until after about 2 years when one plate started not closing all the way. QTP states you need to clean the carbon deposits out every so often, which I never did, but after a little WD40 and bristle brush they sealed up just fine again.

1 7/8" ARH headers, cutout y-pipe, true dual 3" system with H-pipe, dual 30" magnaflow mufflers (straight through design), and dual 14" DynoMax baffled mufflers at the very back. It's a very open exhaust except for the 14" DynoMax mufflers.

They don't like the wet winter months either.

I've only been driving it for 2-3 weeks now and finding the weak points apparently. At this rate I won't get it to the strip this summer, but we'll see if I can get it up for a half-assed pas on closing night or something. I still have more tuning to do with the W/M and race fuel if I'm going to drag it.

I would guess the baffled mufflers are where your problem is coming from...

I actually split apart some chambered mufflers on my mustang. I was running like 14lbs of boost at like 550 rwhp. After I went to straight through mufflers I never had the same problem.
