Factory Remote Start info needed

I recently bought a 2013 1500 CCab Laramie, the truck did not have factory remote start. I looked at after market but they tell me after market wont allow heated seats to be turned on.
I can purchase factory remote start still from the dealer. I am wondering if some can brief on what exactly the factory remote will and will not do. In my GMC I just traded in the factory remote start auto sensed the temp and adjusted the heat / ac and heated seats ect to the current conditions, it also was able to be run from a Iphone. Does the dodge factory start operate the same hopefully?
Thanks and appreciate any detailed info you can offer so I can decided if its worth the money for the factory start.

Does all that u mentioned about your previous truck. Uconnect app allows u to start your truck with your phone.

I figured it had to with all that these trucks do now. My dealer told me it doesn't. He said you have to set your truck up before turning off the key from last use so it will start to those settings. It was fairly cold here this a.m. and when I started the truck manually it automatically turned on the heated seat and steering wheel so I was thinking the truck is smarter than the dealer guy I spoke with.
Is the Uconnect a service you have to pay for I would assume like GMC has onstar? Also does the Uconnect via phone work pretty good? GMCs was horrible, slow as could be.

I just read on another thread that even if you install factory remote start after truck was built the Uconnect Start doesn't not work. Could that be possible? Maybe that's why the dealer said what they said?
