Just called a shop that could put on a 4" lift kit with nitro shocks in the rear on my 2016 1500 4wd, no air ride. $1420 for the kit itself and labor $900. Together with alignment ends up at $2390.

Seems like a lot for labor. For the people who have similar stuff and have gone through it. Is this a fair deal?!

Shops typically run around $100/ labor hour (depending on where you're located). 9 hours for installing a lift, shocks, and alignment is a little fluffed, but not much. I'd try to negotiate them down to a lower labor rate or fewer hours. If they're a professional shop it shouldn't take a full day for a lift install.

Ok, thanks. Called another shop to compare and they had it at around $1570 for installment and labor alone with an additional $1410 for the kit. I could probably do it in less time than that would take, haha.

$900 for labour is pretty on par for most shops. As stated above, most shops charge +/- $100/hr for labour and a lift on a 1500 is around an 8 hour job plus shop supplies. Then $70 for an alignment is actually cheap; most are around $100 for that. $1420 for the lift is pretty on par as well. So overall I'd say you've been quoted a very fair price.

Here in Bay Area/ California, the ravager labor rate is about 125-200-hour. Smaller shops are 85-110... But are few and far in between, and they usually have low yelps. My local Chrysler is 175 for passenger cars and 220 for HD.

Thanks a lot for the input. I'll post some pics of how it turned out if I end up doing it. Much appreciated!

So the deal I got is a fair price. Thanks. And $220/hour is pricey!

For that price I'd take my truck to the shop right this second and get it done! Haha.

I priced out a 4inch bds lift with fox shocks in Michigan and it came out to 3200, about 950 to install

Thanks. I might have a good deal going on after pulling some strings. Actually ordered paint matched fender flares today and putting new wheels on tomorrow. Hopefully lift in by the start of July.
