favorite connectors to tap into speaker outputs

Just wondering what everyone uses to tap the factory harness to pull speaker inputs for a LOC or 12v+ or remote power?

maybe like a good, better, best type thing......

I have the 8.4A and pulled the HU to add my NVX LOC. Ran power from the cig lighter in the console and the LOC provides me with a remote turn on. Amp only comes on when the key is in.

Strip back wire, use a pick tool to make a hole, than put new wire through it and wrap around. Military splice.

Posi-Tap connectors. A bit pricey but when there is not a lot of room to work and you can remove/reuse them.

i couldnt agree with this connection any more. personally when i did them unless it was a heavy gauge ignition wire i would not solder. when you solder you have to worry about cold solder joints and the solder not actually bonding if done incorrectly.


this is the easiest tool to do it with, but you can also do the same thing with with a basic strippers and a razor blade.

if you just want an easy way to tap the output wires go buy a T-harness like this one. Makes it super easy and you can remove it and put factory stereo back later if you want.
