Went out this last Friday to Royal Purple and finally ran 12s in the truck.

Run 1 - 12.766 at 105.12mph
Run 2 - 12.725 at 104.59mph

I spun really bad on the first run, which is why my 60' is a 1.879 and the second run had a 60' of 1.809. The second run was a solid hook. I was also running my street tune on the first run and my race tune on the second.

2014 Ram R/T w/ 8 speed transmission
Vararam with filter pulled
Moe's ported throttle body
1-3/4 ARH long tube headers and offroad y-pipe
No muffler
180 degree thermostat
Clutch Fan delete and TYC e-fan replacement
ATI 15% underdrive pulley
3.92 final drive ratio
17" OEM wheels with M&H Drag Radials
Custom Hemifever Tune

Total weight with me in it as raced was 4,775lbs.

I didn't pull my rear bumper (my truck has the added Class IV hitch) and I raced with half a tank of gas because I'm terrible at remembering not to put as much in it two weeks before I run it lol.

I pulled my Gooseneck hitch, tailgate, passenger seat, and sway bars and that's it, which is why the truck still weighs so much.

DA was somewhere between -1,100 and -1,300 based on my calculations, though it's hard to say because I can't seem to get accurate weather data from that night. Either way, the trap speed and weight have me at 425hp-435hp at the rear wheels, which is a huge improvement over stock.

Thanks to Moe's Performance and Hemifever tuning for all the help on this one!

Nope, still haven't washed it hahahaha. Too much effort for all that when I can just leave it out in the rain.

Very nice run man. But to be honest, 425-435 hp is probably a little far off, most with full bolt ons run in the 370-390 range at the wheels. But needless to say that's a good run. Perfect air as well

The math doesn't lie. Trap speed directly correlates to weight and rear wheel power.

Of course, you make more power when the DA is lower, which is why you run faster in the 1/4.

A 2000 DA swing can easily make a huuuuuge difference in power.

Dyno would solve that. I would bet matt in his cam/heads running 12.0's is around 420ish at the wheels at 111 mph. My 03 is probably in the 390 range with heads and cam and runs around 12.50's in positive da at 105-106. Not gonna take away from your time man. Great run

Matt is probably closer to 475rwhp to run at 111mph with 4475lbs of truck and driver.

Like I said, the air makes a HUGE difference.

At a 1,200 DA, my Z06 ran at 123mph. With me in it, weight was around 3,300lbs, which puts it at 480rwhp. That's pretty close considering those cars dyno stock at about 450 and I have full exhaust, CAI, and a ****** tune. But take it to a -1,500 DA, and it'll make over 525rwhp. That's the power of cold air.

Check out how the dyno correction factors work if you don't believe me. And check out this handy calculator while you're at it.

So youre saying i make more power than you? Considering im heavier and trapped 104 in worse da than you....

Calculators are fun to look at, but I wouldn't claim numbers based on that. Manual shifting my truck is worth an extra 2mph in the 1/4...Its all about keeping your truck in the correct rpm range where your motor is making power.

Having said that, I have seen full bolt on 8 speeds put down 390-400hp to the wheels on the dyno. Take that same truck with no air filter, an uncapped exhaust, on lightweight 17's, and in -1000DA, and I can see it making in the neighborhood of about 425hp to the wheels.

Regardless, 1/4 mile ET is all that matters, and 12.72 is movin'. Wade, I think you have more in it as well because you only picked up 19mph from the 1/8th to the 1/4. Most 8 speeds pick up 21mph from the 1/8th to the 1/4, so I think its time to focus on your shift rpms to get the most out of the truck. I would definitely log your runs next time at the track so that we can see where you are at and if there is any room for improvement.

Agreed, calculators are only so accurate. They're usually pretty damn accurate from what I've seen though. And unlike dyno numbers, you can't fudge trap speeds.

I've still got the headlight intake to rig up as well, but idk how much that'll help.

I also may finally put my dynomat in, though it's not that heavy, maybe 50lbs.
