After filling up with mid grade yesterday afternoon, got my first check engine light on a vehicle in a long time. Got home and double checked the gas cap, restarted the truck, still there. It runs fine, no noticeable changes in drive-ability.

So i guess its finally time to make an appointment at the dealership to get recall work done and get that checked as well. I'll probably go by a parts store first to see what the code is.

Anybody want to have a guess?

Disconnect the battery and let the truck sit for a good 30 minutes minimum.

Even if the gas cap set off the check engine light it needs to be reset to turn it off.

That is exactly what happened to me.

Just an option.

I'll take a guess! I had the same issue and it turned out to be the evap purge solenoid that's located next to the throttle body.

Dealer wanted over $100 in parts and labor. I did it myself for under $10 and 10 minutes of my time:

This is an exact copy of the OEM part, at least from comparing all the markings/visual aspects. I did have to return the first one I bought since it made a loud "ticking" noise when it was active.

Just got the check gas cap message in mine today on the way home. It’s a 2018 3.6 with 31k and is going to the dealer on Monday. Hope it’s an easy fix.
