FNG with remote start question

Greetings everyone. Just purchased my 2014 Ram Big Horn yesterday and I have a question regarding Uconnect and remote start. So I purchased my Ram from a local Dodge dealer where I purchased a 2012 and 2014 Charger. Since I got a helluva deal on the 2014 Charger as a repeat costumer I knew I was going to get an even better deal with the Ram which I did . The Rams that were on the lot I didn't like so I found the one I wanted at another dealer. I went to take a look at it and I swore the salesman that I spoke to remotely started the truck. The thing is it isn't equipped with a factory remote start according to the window sticker.... and the fob only has the lock/unlock and panic buttons. The dealer that I wanted to buy the truck from got it from this other dealer and now it's mine. The question that I have is do dealers have some special access within uconnect to remotely start a vehicle or is my brain fried from the crazy stuff I used to do as a young adult and imagining things? Also I did try pressing the lock button 3 times...nothing. Thanks.

I don't know if dealers have any special access but you can start the trucks via the web or app though UConnect. I thought they had to have remote start installed for it to work, but maybe not.

Yes you can start them via Uconnect if the truck has remote start installed but as stated above I do not according to the window sticker. I have Uconnect set up for my truck but I can only remotely lock/unlock and sound the horn.

I have the same model as you (2014 Big Horn) and mine has the remote start. Here is a pic of the FOB.

Thanks but as stated above I do not have the remote start for my truck but I swore he started it remotely. I called him and left a message but he hasn't returned my call as of yet.

if it is a big horn.. it has remote start. All big horns come with remote start.. that's why it is not on the window sticker. after looking at trucks for months.. and talking to sales guys" I would of had a black edition but the sales guy just glanced the window sticker and said nope no remote start so I moved on.. and finally my truck now.. I told the sales man to get the keys and check it for remote start regardless of what the window sticker says and sure enough it had it. then finally the service guy of all people says yup all big horns.. it's standard that's why they don't list it. check with ur dealer again.

Service was wrong. I have had a 2014 BigHorn and 2 2015 big horns and none had remote start. I am adding it t one of the 15s this weekend. At least this is true with the 1500s

Go here Ram Trucks - Recall and click "equipment listing" and it will list everything your truck came with.
If remote start is not on the list, then the salesman didn't start it remotely.
The remote start option has at least 1 module and a hood latch with safety switch. It's not just a flashable upgrade, there are physical parts which must be present.

I'm now curious about remote starting my '14 RAM Express but my FOB doesn't have the remote start icon.
I have to take the time to visit the Uconnect website to see if my phone is compatible with the remote start and the voice to text feature that the owners Manuel said I have.
Also since I got my RAM Express at a rock bottom price of about $21k and some things that where listed on the window sticker had been removed in order to meet that price such as removal of the receiver hitch and bedliner. However there was added stuff that wasn't on the sticker such as a tri-fold tonnoe cover and backup camera. Even the dealer didn't know that truck had that.

I just wondering Is it possible that some how the factory had programmed the wrong key for the truck? they have done that with my dads base model 2007 ram but gave him a key with remote start when his truck didn't have it
