Fog lights behavior

I never noticed before, but my fog lights, when turned on (by pushing in the headlight switch button), light up when the headlight switch position is set to Automatic. Is this the expected behavior? Wondering if maybe AlfaOBD could be used to have them come ON in the Automatic position only when the main headlights do, too.

Anyone ever look into this?

Are they coming on when the headlights do when it gets dark, or are they on all the time regardless if the headlights are on with them? I have my fog lights set as DRL in Alfa, so any time my truck goes into gear, they come on. Perhaps who ever had the truck before you (assuming you bought it used of course) messed with the settings? If not, it would seem there is some kind of short in the switch, as they should only come on when the lights come on.

Same here. Fogs only came on when headlights where on, until I turned my Fog's on as DRL.

In this case, I'd like the foglights to only come on with the headlights (Automatic switch position), but it seems like they're coming on when the headlights aren't yet.

I would think that they were turned on as DRL. You would need to go into AlfaOBD and reverse this. Put it back to factory.

UPDATE: it seems the dogs are now working as expected, only coming on when dark in the Auto setting.

Not sure. I may have looked at things when it wasn't light enough not to need them. It's been a bit but I checked the past few days and they've been working as expected.
