Ok so this is a shot in the dark but here we go.... I found this bolt under my spare tire today and I have been searching frantically to try and find where it came from as it looks pretty substantial. I can’t seem to find where it came from. Truck info:

2016 Ram 2500 SLT 8ft bed. I have never seen this bolt and it wasn’t on the ground before today. The size bolt is a 3/4in 2.5in long and on top it looks like either 109 or 10.9 with a wave mark under it.

Lower the spare to the ground and make sure the winch is not missing any bolts.
I don't have an HD truck but my skid plates use the same size bolt all the way around.
Hope it helps.

Whatever it is, its metric if the marking is 10.9 and it is NOT a very strong bolt.......so in that case .......look at your exhaust manifold bolts[emoji23][emoji23]

Ok first, I found it under my spare. second, I found where it came from, while I was checking the spare tire winch like mentioned above, I happen to look at where the bed bolts go and I found that I was missing two in the middle of the bed. So it was one of the eight bed bolts that holds it onto the frame. Looks like I was missing one already and this one just fell out. Looks like I need to pull them all and lock right them so they don’t vibrate out.

I did think of that but no my friends don’t have that kind of sense of humor. lol

Glad you found it and made the effort to run it down. Imagine what could have happened if left unchecked. Awesome work!

Not sure I would admit to holding onto a lubed up ram. Just sayin'.

Make sure all the bolts are properly torque with a torque wrench.

Yeah that’s what I need to do. I had a panel replaced on the bed so I think the body shop didn’t torque them down good enough when they put the bed back on. Scary thought.
