I think you'll be happier in the long run if you start with an lc6i or similar. That way you'll already have the ability to wire it correctly when you decide to add the four channel later. Pulling the mono signal out of the sub amp will sound like crap.

Better bet (if you're using the lc2i) is to do it the opposite way with the lc2i and run into the 4 channel then pull from that to the sub amp. You'll lose fader but at least you'll still have stereo.

K so it would work bc the rears are getting full signal. whats the point of lc6i ? just to be able to keep fader?

I have to buy everything from scratch , so what u think about getting a 5 channel amp hook to lc2i off rears? something like this ..https://www.crutchfield.com/p_109CL4505M/JBL-Club-4505.html?tp=35808

reason im saying lc2i is bc I have one a friend gave me for free. tapping rear speakers much easier than pulling factory unit out to get behind it( I have console) or spending over 100 bucks on a harness.

Im just not sure if I want to amp my doors speakers. I bought the DS kickers series which sound good on the factory unit. Just when im rolling with windows down sunroof back its not very loud. Im wondering what they what the would sound like with 40 wattsrms going to them. They claim 90 watts rms.

You could start with the LC2I setup and see how it goes since you already have it. My guess is that adding an amp to the fronts will make you much happier when rolling with the windows down.

My suggestion would be to run all wires to the rear wall. That way you can mount everything back there and switching things up is easier. If you plan on running two amps, run a large gauge power wire from the battery to the rear and then use a distribution block to feed each amp. It’s more work initially but will make your life easier in the long run. Especially when troubleshooting.

If you’re not confident, maybe get a good shop to do the main wiring runs for you and then build the rest yourself. That way you’ll have a relationship already if you run into issues and need to ask questions.

I forgot to ask, what kind of budget are you planning?

This is what I want for Sub n Box

12 sealed Fox Box and Kicker CVR dual 4 ohm.

I already changed all 6 speakers to kickers Dash 3 1/2, fronts 6.5, rear doors 6x9 all kicker DS series.

So really im just debating going with Mono 500 amp for subs …. see how it sounds... buy 4 channel later if need be OR I could buy 5 channel right now.... I guess since I have it figured out how im goin to get signal for amp..i just need to figure out which amp or amps I want to buy.

I need 500 Rms for subs and 40 to 50 watts Rms for front door and rears.

Don't want to spend more than 300 to 350 on amps.

A quick Google found this amp which gets good reviews and has exactly the power footprint you're looking for.

There is a newer version at Crutchfield for a little bit more but you get the latest one and have Crutchfield's tech support to help guide you through the install.

One question, you say you changed the dash and door speakers. Did you leave them in the factory wiring setup which has them sharing a channel?

I have a crew cab

Tel me if u think this would work..

use lc2i get left and right signal from rear speakers. hook Rca from lc21 to Mon block amp. use 12v n ground off mono amp, use rear cig light for remote.

Say I want to run a 4 channel amp down the road, could I just use the mono block output rca to connect to the 4 channel amp. I would lose fade but I would keep right to left? correct? From 4 channel amp run new wires to front n rear speakers, leave dash (3 1/2 )connected to factory radio. Install resistors where the front speakers are so the radio will play dash speakers.

what you guys think?

Sure it would work this way. I am not a fan of running the dash speakers off the radio power.

If you can, I would start off with either 2 amps or 1 5 channel. Do it right the first time and save time and money. Remember there is no race to get this done. You will save in the long run.

Tapping off the rear is fine and yes you will have left to right balance control but you will lose front and rear. For most people that is fine.

Also you can get an amp that takes high level input and you don't need a LC2 or LC6. I had an older amp that didn't have that feature and that is why I had to go with an LC6I. I wish my truck had the upgraded system so that I could use the PAC AUDIO piece that I had. Now I have a Hertz ML5 5 channel amp with the high level inputs and I could have used them and got rid of the Audio Control LC6I but since I bought it and I didn't want to spend time rewiring the system. I just left it.

So think about what you really want and how much money you want to invest. Do it once and be done with it. This is coming from someone that has 35 years of buying car audio. I started at 15 and SPENT a ton of money learning this crap... LOL

does using the audio control(lc2i ect) give u a better signal than using high level inputs?

how do u run dash with fronts and rears amped wouldn't u need 6 channels for that?

Front to rear is fading is not a big deal, as long as I have stereo.

is this brand any good?
never heard of them
It's a brand that is proprietary to sonic electronix. I believe it's their brand. If you look at some of their products on their site and read the reviews, I think you'll find a lot of happy people. But, there are a lot more brands out there that are better with good prices. I give advice on some of these threads and get ignored 100% of the time. I guess a big name brand make people feel better about their purchase. It's just lots of research, reviews, and reading that gave me some different insight on products.

Put a cap (crossover) on the dash speaker and run it parrell to the door speaker.

what do u think about this JBL? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KX8PVN...olid=2VJHNL7RKQ3H0&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

or is this https://www.crutchfield.com/p_130GMDX975/Pioneer-GM-DX975.html better?

Hertz ML5 5 channel amp How long you had this amp and how u think it compares to the other 5 channel amp?

I'm definitely going with a 5 channel, I don't mind spending 300 bucks on a good amp.

Both brands are very good. I might go with the Pioneer over the JBL though.

I have had it for a year and it is a very good small amp for what I have.

I called NeT Audio today and talked with the them. Looks like im buy their T-harness with resistors and speakers wire. I can run everything at once plug n play be done with it. They recommend to use the high level input for signal. So im just debating which 5 channel amp. Im also going to have buy new 3 1/2 bc the kicker DS is only 20 watts rms.

how do you have your amp wired? Did u have to use resistors on the speaker wire going into amp? The Front Dash n front speakers are wired together correct? do u use 2 channels for the dash n fronts ?
I’m using a JL audio Fix 86 front and rear are biamped to the front. 2 channels for the tweeter and 3” in the dash and 2 channels for the 6.5 in the door. This way I can fade a little more to the 6.5 when I really want to rock out without the tweeters being so bright. It’s really a distance thing. If the tweeters were closer to the 6.5 it wouldn’t be so bad. With the fix 86 it’s super easy.

I have a fiberglass box with dual 12 upfiring(almost identical to a fiberglass net audio box but homeade) and I asked about the alpine type s, people said rolloff would suck with the alpine and not to use. But would like others who used them opinions. Same forum said basically anything will suck because of upfiring box.
