I've got a little over 60k on my brakes and I'm now starting to feel a shake when breaking. How many miles did you get out of your OEM brakes?

I did mine at 40K - probably could have gotten another 10K out of them but I always thought the OEM pads sucked.
Replaced w/ Powerstop Z36 and am happy with the price/performance compromise on them. May try Hawk next time.

I managed to get 53K miles before replacing the brakes. The front pads were fairly thin. I went with the Powersatop Z23 kit (rotors and pads x 4). It was a choice of balance between performance and longevity so the Z23 seemed a better fit for me.
I've been running the new brakes for almost 2 months and they perform well beyond the factory brakes. The rotors do not get surface rust and the hybrid brake pads do very well on hard/fast stops increasing their grip as the heat builds.
Someone on here told me the Powerstop's were cheap quality and not very good. That seemed to contradict what I read in reviews on both Amazon and Rock Auto. The only thing cheap about the Powerstop's is pricing.
I'm on rockauto right now looking at the Powerstop pads. Looked at the rotors and they didn't look bad so I'm not ordering.

If you are feeling a shaking or shuddering when braking that is caused by the rotors being warped. Putting new pads on won't fix this issue but could possibly make it worse. Rule of thumb with disk brakes, always replace or at least turn the rotors with every pad replacement.
I am getting some shuddering. Damn it, didn't want to spend a lot of money.

I'm on 4wp and coming up with $330.72 for the complete kit. Not a bad price.
Rotors from O'reilly's have a 2 year warranty, and the Bosch Quiet Stop rotors are 3 year. Almost all pads carry a lifetime warranty and even though we don't mention it it does cover wear. So long as the pads are not worn to the metal, and they are worn even, we cover it.
There is also a misconception about even wear. Even wear doesn't mean the inside and outside are even but the individual pad has the same depth all around.
