Needing advice, I took my 97 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9L in to have the tie rods changed and then to have the alignment done, well long story short 3 months later I had to have my truck towed back to my house and the old tie rods aren’t on the truck and neither are the new ones. When I’ve changed tie rods before I’ve always measured from the end of the tie rod to the adjusting sleeve to know how far in to screw the new tie rods, but with no tie rods or adjusting sleeves on the truck, should I screw the tie rods all the way into the adjusting sleeve and adjust the toe out or have the tie rods screwed all the way out of the adjusting sleeve and adjust the toe back in? I know how to align them just enough to drive it to the alignment shop. Just needing some good advice, so I can get my truck back on the road.
