I'm a little confused here. I've heard people in other threads about this say that ALL Ram's are going to be the full time rather than the part time transfer case but a couple people in this thread are saying it's only certain trims? Which is it? I want the part time, no "auto" mode, I prefer to control it myself and the transfer cases with "auto" don't actually lock when the knob is in "4wd lock. I'll be wanting my next RAM to be the same or I'll be hanging onto the one I have as long as possible. This isn't a "**** measuring" thing like GP4L said above, it's how I prefer my 4wd even if I'm not off-roading. I live in a snowbelt in winter, my night vision sucks, and both directions of my winter commute to work are on a dark ****** country highway. So I don't want "awd" I want to put my truck in 4wd lock and know it's actually IN 4wd lock not "knob says 4wd lock but just kidding not really"

Hfe, express, tradesman, outdoorsman, come part time / no slipper clutch on transfer case
Bighorn, sport, Laramie full time / has slipper clutch on transfer case.
The whole thing is confusing
This is what I have on my Big Horn. I thought part time was 4WD Auto and full time was 4WD Lock or 4WD Low?
Our trucks have no full time case, traditionally a full time case has no 2wd mode, our part time case has no auto mode, the on demand case has autoThe whole thing is confusing

Its more like 10s of thousands have the problems and dont realize it, when i was dealing with my 13 sport i tried 6 or 7 different models with the on demand case and behaved exactly the same no initial lock up without spin and disengage when no loadA few have had problems, 10s of thousands have not.
Mine auto xfer case works fine. Hell, it's abused to. WOT jack rabbit starts in rain, snow, dirt, etc. Instant engagement and never overheated.
Who's actually rock crawling in their rams?

Then start a class action suit. Tens of thousands of people are not tying their trucks to trees! Its more like 10s of thousands have the problems and dont realize it, when i was dealing with my 13 sport i tried 6 or 7 different models with the on demand case and behaved exactly the same no initial lock up without spin and disengage when no load
Its how it was designed and works as designed, so no grounds for any lawsuit, its perfect for what 90% of buyers will do with the truck, im in the other 10%, when i select 4wd i need 4wd, i read on here all the time on here of people using 4wd because its raining, to me thats obsurd but thats the bigger market so thats what they engineer forThen start a class action suit. If it says 4 wheel lock and it's not locked, then that's the issue. Its how it was designed and works as designed, so no grounds for any lawsuit, its perfect for what 90% of buyers will do with the truck, im in the other 10%, when i select 4wd i need 4wd, i read on here all the time on here of people using 4wd because its raining, to me thats obsurd but thats the bigger market so thats what they engineer for

You get 4wd when it's in 4wd when you apply throttle. Well, for most of us. Most seem to be doing just fine in the snow, mud, sand, ice, rain, etc.
The ones that seem to have the issues are the ones setting up unrealistic scenarios by tying trucks to trees and proving you don't instantly get 4wd by idling on ice uphill with no throttle.
What it seems so far is normal amount of faulty units. Most seem to operate just fine.

Thanks for telling me what I understand. I had no clue. Before insulting ones intelligence, understand we are just discussing.Wow, you must not really understand using a four wheel drive truck the way they have always been intended. Try backing a snowmobile trailer up a sloped snowy driveway with this crap system. As soon as power is applied the rear slips sideways and sets the trailer at an angle that is not in line with travel. Try pulling a heavy boat up a sandy ramp with front wheels on sure footing. The rears will spin into a hole forcing the operator to use far more throttle than would normally be necessary causing everything that is loose in the boat to toss all over the place. I could go on and on about how bad this system is. I think this is the best truck I have ever driven, and the worst. I'm gonna loose my ass going to a Raptor, but it's gonna have to happen
