A few times, my back camera shows fuzzy/ distorted. I know it’s not the head unit itself because when the camera is on and I hit the camera on the tail gate it fixes itself. Is the camera itself or could it be the wiring? Turns in advance.

Mine did that for the first time in 8 years the other day. Turned the truck off and back on and hasnt done it since. I'm sure its not last time I'll see it.

I've read unplugging/reconnecting the connectors in the tailgate at the camera and where tailgate harness goes into the bed can fix this.

Likely moisture in the connectors. Disconnect, dry, and put some dielectric grease on before re-seating.

I thought moisture too but I’m in Palm Springs , 110°+ dry heat.
Do you go to the car wash? If so, moisture is still a possibility. If not, I'd still repack with grease and re-seat.
