What's the situation with that distribution looking aluminum plate on the driver's upper side?

What's else is going on besides keep tabs on the diff temps?

That is just a mounting plate for the brake lines and ABS sensor wires. It's stock that way.

Ahh ok. Thought maybe they were installing a **** or 2 so you could monitor temp of the fluid.

Never realized the routing on HD's as I haven't paid close attention to the larger diffs/axle tube.

Yeah, the HD AAM Axle is an absolute monster - has a 11.5" dia. ring gear (Ford HD is 10.5" Dana, I believe), with heavy casting flanges connecting the gear case to the axles.
