I very recently purchased a new 2025 RAM 1500 with the standard gas tank of 26 gallons. It appeared to have a full tank of gas when I left the dealership. Some miles were probably put on the vehicle before I took delivery of it. I drove about 190 miles home, going uphill at about 65 miles per hour. I am guessing there was about 200 miles on the current tank of fuel when I filled up. It took only 10.1 gallons of gas to fill up and the gas gage read about 80% full when I pulled up to the gas pump. Given the amount of fuel used that would equate to about 61 percent of fuel remaining which certainly would not have the needle showing just over 3/4 of a tank full. It should have been showing a bit to the right of half full.

In most vehicles in the past and on my old 2021 RAM 1500 26 gallon tank I would see the needle slowing moving down from a full tank indication after driving about 30-40 miles. In the new vehicle, on my most recent fill up, I had to drive about 90 miles before the needle began to drop and it has dropped only slightly.

Has anyone experienced this condition? The dealership gave me some comment that this happened "because of all the gas in the tank". The service department member might not have a clue as to what is happening.

I have a 2025 with a 33 gallon tank and the gauge appears slow in reporting the actual amount of fuel in the tank and the amount of miles remaining. My 2018
Grand Cherokee was much better at keeping up with those 2 values. Maybe the RAM will get better over time. I've only had it for 2 months...

I bought a 2025 Big Horn last November 26 Gal
Put a lot of highway miles on it.
From Full to half a tank is slow, when refill yellow tank comes on the dash.
I thought that’s fast, then I stop to fill it up it only takes about 18 gal.
It’s weird for sure but am getting used to it.

Just remember:

NEVER Top off a Ram Fuel Tank !!

Topping off the Fuel Tank is just inviting a splash of fuel to enter the over flow/ VENT valve & then some of that fuel Could enter the Charcoal Cannister & that could cause the Charcoal to break down.
That could cause the ESIM, (Evaporative System Integrity Monitor ), & the Purge Valve to go bad

Of course, no one likes to see the Instrument Cluster to show trouble Lights

A variant on this issue: I took delivery of a 2025 1500 Limited Longhorn (33 gal tank). I drove home (almost 60 miles) from the dealership and noticed that the gauge never moved (or very little) off full. I had to drive back to the dealership the next day and the gauge remained on full. I mentioned it to the dealer, they took it to the machanics and I was told that I hadn't driven it long enough for it to start dropping. I drove home. Now it had almost 200 miles on it and still no change. I kept driving it and at around 250 miles, the gauge dropped to half tank (about right since the "remaining miles when I first got it was just under 500 miles). And it has stayed there ever since. I now have a "remaining miles" (which apparently IS working) of 70 miles but the gauge still shows half a tank. I guess it will be going in for a look-see along with some other wonky Uconnect issues: intermittent auto stop, as is the topic of this thread, Uconnect not returning to radio station after turning off the motor, even though I set it to do so. Hurky-jurky acceleration at low speed with light acceleration, etc. I had other, but similar issues with my 2022 Limited and they finally had to swap out the Uconnect unit altogether. It solved most of the problems but the others remained. Ain't technology great?

I have a 2025 2500, and I am having the same issues with the fuel gauge. It will be very slow to move off of full, and it will be closer to 1/2 full when the gauge reads 3/4, based on the amount of fuel I can put in. The estimated range to empty appears to be working, so that kind of tells me the signal from the fuel sending unit is ok. Maybe a software issue? Has anyone had their truck in for service and figured out what the issue is? @sbmike has yours been into the shop?

Well it seems like it's normal. My 2025 1500 will read full or close to it for a 100 or more miles, then start to drop down. I was at half a tank with 100 miles to empty showing. I went 30 or so miles to a store and half way back and it showed 80 miles to empty. In the next 6 miles it dropped to 50 miles to empty. For the next 5 miles it stayed at 50, ten dropped to 45 for 5 miles then it showed low fuel until I filled it. I normally don't run that low in my vehicles, but I needed to get to the store and home ASAP. I don't like the low fuel warning I would rather know it thinks I have X miles to empty instead.
