2016 1500 4wd crew cab, 5.7, 3.21, 75k miles, 20” highway tires, 5w20 synthetic on 5k change. Mileage typically 20-23 mpg on highway 65-75 mph speeds using cruise as much as possible. Town 16-18 mpg. Drive gently.

that is pretty good mileage, sounds like you have the same exact truck I have except my truck has the 3.92 gears which likely will cause a bit of drop in mileage.

I have proved that with less than a grand you can increase mileage by 5 mpg and power is awesome.
I went from having 4 cylinder cars kick my tail to leave them in the dust.
I have posted the details a few times, some don’t like to make your Hemi breath as needed they would rather use twice the fuel needed.

I don't know why your milage is so low. Both of these trucks has stock rims and tires. 1st was a 2010 1500 quad cab 2 wheel drive with 5.7, 5 speed auto, and 3.21 gears. Normal around driving was around 19 MPG. I went to Texas and averaged 21 MPG round trip. My previous truck was a 2000 Ram 2 wheel drive with a 360. I got 13 MPG with it. I have a 2017 quad cab 1500 4 wheel drive with 5.7, 8 speed auto, and 3.73 gears. I average 19 to 20 MPG normal driving and 22 on trip to Texas. I use 90% gas and use my cruise control all I can. Using it always has given me more MPG. My wife doesn't use cruise much, drives different than me and get 3 to 3 MPG less

LOL don't by a Hemi pickup if you can't afford the gas to run it. NEVER believe the EPA sticker on the window! If it says 21 highway plan on 17 - 18. If it says 12 city, plan on 9. They run the test in a perfect, temperature controlled environment. Flat and level, fixed amount of fuel. Gas tank is empty its fed off a separate container. They start the truck, get it to the test speed then open the valve for their fuel container and drive until it is empty. about a cup of gas is burned and they interpolate what the fuel mileage is from that test.

2021 1500 with 1800 miles so it may improve down the road. Tires were 50 lbs. I was getting 19.2 with A/C on some of the trip from NJ to PA. Just increased tires to max of 55 wondering if it will help.

For all those 3.21/8 speed owners who’ve ever tried to convince us that was the greatest combination ever, for fuel economy, and all else, my new best friend BigSky, just said in effect: Not so much”.

2011s with that rotten old 546RFE is still hanging right there with the Game Changer trucks.

I am in Canada so gallons are different and we go by liters, which is a rip off .
Your numbers sound really off to me, 1970 ford numbers.
my 14 sport with 8 sp, 3.9 gears is great, I can get 10 liters / 100km which is close to what the wife's Honda CRV AWD will do on the highway at 70-75 mph ( 120km/h) I run reg. gas 90% of the time.
It is some where in the high 20's ,m/g,.
If you put your foot into it or windy, never mind , it goes to hell. I have not computed the numbers , But I am happy with them, way better than the 2009 Larraine with same motor , but not a 8 speed.

.
second verify that your mileage estimates are accurate by hand calculating distance vs. fuel use, the old fashioned way and see if that gives you a different number than the dashboard display.

Have done this on EVERY vehicle I have owned to double check gauges and know for sure possible of distance of travel.

Been a little over a week since I've had my RAM Classic with the 3.92 rear end... I'm averaging 13.5L/100KM or 18MPG combined driving with 89 octane fuel. I have 940 KMs / 584mi on the odometer.

We have a few hills here and there but no rocky mountains here. We are in a valley here so it's always windy as F and can see it does affect mileage if it's in my face!

I know I can do better but I have to say, it's hard not to stamp on the gas to hear that HEMI roar! :D
