Wanted to see if anyone else has had the same problem as I do with my Ram, When I went to go pump gas yesterday the pump kept shutting off every few seconds like it was full. It kept doing this until I got frustrated and pumped 6 dollars then went to a different station. Same issue at different station, I managed to pump a little more if a go slower but it eventually backs up and starts spilling. Just wondering if anyone has had the same problem

I have only had the constant stopping occur once in my Ram. We had an '05 Durango before the Ram and when you filled it up it would overflow EVERY time. I've read that it was a gas tank issue and that Dodge knew about it and I thought had since fixed it. Not sure if there is a fix or not? I'm sure someone else will chime in.

The overflow happens to my moms hemi Durango. But as for your problem I haven't the slightest clue what It could be. Maybe a faulty fuel hose, that goes to the tank?

this doesnt really have anything to do with nething but in my 08 4.7 i told the guy to fill it 89. 75.00 later hes takes nozzle out and gives my credit card back. i drive off and look down and it was on the line before the F line. i was like damn he didnt fill it... not sure if he simply just didnt fill it or the truck made the nozzle stop pumping thinking it was filled

ive had this same problem with both my 05 ram and 04 neon srt-4. i know a lot of people frown upon filling the tank with it running but it makes a difference in my opinion as far as the pump shutting off. leaving it running i never have a problem but when the truck is off and the nozzle shoved all the way in the filler, itll click off around a gallon. If i pull the nozzle out and start pumping again then itll go until its full. I dont know what it is with dodges but my last 2 had the exact same issue.

I am having the same problem with my 2004 Quadcab. It just started a few weeks ago. Thought I had ice in the line. Added a bottle of Heet to the tank. Later added $65 of gas with no problem. Check engine light decided to come on during that tank of gas. Tightened the gas cap and had Auto Zone do a diagnostic check. They said it was related to the fuel tank but if it was the gas cap the light would go out in around 200 miles. It did go out. Problem solved. Nope. The next fill up started okay but then went bad. The pump kept shutting off. Came back in the afternoon with same results. Went to another gas station with no luck. I found the little tab was missing in the nozzle hole. I took the rubber gas line hoses off and did not find the little tab. I could feel the float in the tank but no tab. Went back for gas yesterday and the problem still exists. Any ideas???

Yes their was a recall but it did not include all the vehicles it maybe should have. On my 05 Durango they replaced under warranty which I didn't have at 100k and it impressed me since it should have been on my dime. I love Chrysler anyway but that was a big deal to say it is not in recall but we have had issues so here is a $800 repair on us.

The issue is actually with some kind of vent they test with a smoke machine and if it is bad they replace the whole tank like they did on my Durango.
