I realize the tachometer range is different from gas vs diesel but would like to know if a person put a gas cluster in the diesel truck would the RPM read accurately or would the needle point where it would normally point on a diesel?
So say 3k physical position on the tach of a diesel cluster points to 6k on the gas would it point at the 6k when installed on a diesel?
The reason I'm asking is I am thinking about customizing a cluster and can get a premium gas one for a fair price and as we know the diesel ones go for about double......
If I can swap gauge faces / face bezel then I'll order the gas one as long as the needle would be pointing at the correct position.
Thanks in advance!
