Gear Quote Sanity Check

Not sure if this belongs here or the Performance section. I just got quoted 3K at dealership for 4.10 gears on my 4x4 2010 1500. Please tell me this is not normal? Quote is for 12hrs labor and parts for both Axels. Yowza!?!?$$$ This cant be right. Right? Currently have 3.55 with 34.3 in tires and looking to gain some ooomph back from the tire swap

Dealers usually have pretty high labor rates. I would call around and try to find it a little cheaper.

Those gears run $700ish if they are OEM. So set for the front and back plus master install kits would put you at $1600ish in parts alone....

I only have 2wd and I was charged $400 labor at an off road shop..... So puts you around $2400. Obviously different area and different prices...but shouldn't be that much worse or can possibly find better?

I paid $1900 for front and rear 4.56 and they added my LSD I bought. My advise is shop around for differential shops that have done them before. I would not pay 3k unless it was for a 2012+ year ram

I know I was quoted $3200 and $2900 at the 4x4 shops up here for a gear and LSD swap for my '07, so if it's a dealership job that sounds about right since they have a much higher labour rate compared to regular shops.
