I currently have a 2017 Gen 4 quad cab and am looking at new Gen 6 Rams and would prefer a quad cab for the longer bead as I have now. Does anyone know if Ram has found a way to squeak out a tiny bit more comfort in the rear seat of the Gen 6. Or the other possibility that they lost a little bit. The Gen 4 rear is adequate for kids and smaller adults and even average size adults for rides up to an hour or so. Of course, longer rides than that in the rear is not that comfy. Any experience or thoughts would be appreciated. I would prefer to not go to a club cab but it's not out of the question.

From my research and experience the crew cab 5th gen is the same length as the quad cab 4th generation with the longer bed.

Ask me how I know, look through my threads started by me in the last year.

If you have passengers regularly you should go crew cab IMO. The shorter bed hasn't been that big of a deal to me. And I thought it would.

My dad has a 2020 5th gen quad and that back seat is just so dang small compared to mine. If you need that bed space, get the quad but, you get the extra backseat space you'll get the roof speakers, the in-floor storage space....

I've had both, I would go crew cab everytime now.

Carrying pax in rear a lot. Crew Cab configuration really a must IMHO.

The first two Rams I owned had the quad cab. The last four have all had the crew cab, and I'd never go back. The difference for passengers is night and day, and I've never missed the lost bed length.

You can purchase a crew cab with the 6.4 box as well just fyi. A bit more difficult to find, but worth it in my opinion for sure.

There is no Gen6 Ram yet, it still falls under the Gen5 till a major body update. Technically the latest HD trucks are still a Gen4.
As mentioned above you can get a Gen5 CrewCab with either the 5.7' or 6.4' bed. The 6.4' bed is what comes behind the QuadCab. The added length of the 6.4' behind a CrewCab is noticable different to drive but not as obnoxious as having an 8' bed.
From my research and experience the crew cab 5th gen is the same length as the quad cab 4th generation with the longer bed.
The Gen4 QuadCab has a 140" wheelbase, the Gen5 CrewCab w/5.7" bed has 144" wheelbase, the CC w/6.4' bed is 152"
The Gen4 CC w/6.4' bed wheelbase is 149"

I'm on my 2nd quad cab. I don't sit in the back seat so the comfort isn't my issue. I do regularly haul an ATV and a pontoon boat. The 6.4 bed is way more useful for me. It's all up to what you need.
