For what its worth my motor has 16k on it and it needs to be replaced.. Talking to the service people they said this is the second motor they have had to replace all year. I'd say that's a pretty good idea that these motors don't fail very often.............

Just wondering, what caused the motor to be replaced?

Hi All,

Actually it is the time of the warranty that most people run out of. That's why I got a 72 month premium care bumper to bumper on my truck. I figure if it hasn't blown/broken/fallen off/ grenaded in 72 months it's pretty solid. And if it does they can fix it.
The fact that it is still a five year warranty shows that these trucks don't fall apart in 30K miles like my 07 Canyon did.

Never did get that. How does a American pronounce the letter O while talking?
It's OH or AH or wtf?
I spent many years trucking in the states and never heard it sound different. But an American could pick it up.
It really depends on what area of the US you live. Everybody here thinks people from different states sound funny - like someone from born and bred in New York sounds completely different from someone born and bred in North Carolina.

Yeah, you gotta be careful with those "free" dealership provided warranties. Unless it is backed by FCA, those types of warranties are more marketing for the sale than actual useful as they are filled with extra disclaimers and usually require you to have all the services done by the selling dealership at twice the factory recommended interval. Miss one event, and they have grounds to deny the warranty.

If it was FCA it wasn't free... You paid for it somewhere, unless you financed the truck on your own and accounted for every red cent, and you haggled for the truck. No way are they going to give them away. I know the finance manager very well at my dealership, and he said they used to literally give them away back in 2009/10 to try and get sales up, but with Rams brand now back on the map, and Fiat checking the books more, no one's throwing it in for free..

My 6/100k B2B is legit FCA, and it still cost me something.. same with my Wife's Jeep..

So is it a FCA or dealer backed warranty?

Where I'm at we pronounce it like OH. Most everywhere on the states it's pronounced that way, but it'll vary state by state and area.

If it's a dealer back warranty like we do at my dealership, we put it in our pack fees and is only valid if all maintenance is done at a dealership in our franchise.

I think he got the "dealer" warranty as I asked him straight up whether it was a FCA or dealer warranty and he never answered.

Now i'm curious.. How do you know if its dealer or FCA? I got a letter from Mopar/FCA and a warranty card that I keep in my wallet that has a blue header that says "Vehicle Protection". I assume I have an FCA one and not a dealer one so I am not held to the same standard, and mine is legit?
