Getting Car Play on my 2013 Ram 1500

All,

I have research this forum and notice most people go with 2 options of getting Car Play working on there 4th Gen Radio

#1 - Purchase a 2018 Radio that has the UConnect Version that support Car Play (I think I saw cost around $100)
#2 - Purchase an aftermark radio.

I have also found a 3rd option for around $500 that plugs into your existing radio. Anybody use the NavTool???

The thing about that is, there are no touchscreen controls. You have to toggle with the tune knob just like the other interfaces that have a separate joystick.

Good point... I guess the 2018 radio gives you the touch controls... thanks Jimmy07

I realize this is an old thread, but wanted to leave this here for the benfit of anyone who stumbles on it.

Whatever you do, do not send a dime to NavTool. They are basically a bunch of crooks. I bought their CarPlay adaptor for my 2017 1500. The product would not initialize, and NavTool refuses to repair, replace, or refund. I won't go into the entire ordeal, but here is their response when I told them I would be filing a report with the BBB.

"I understand if you wanna report to China because better business bureau is located in China , They ask you for payment keep in mind you’re helping Chinese people spread more COVID-19 in this country by supporting them"

I kid you not!! Needless to say, I went ahead and filed the report, although they are still giving me the run-around.
