I have to admit this is a wild one. 2012 RAM 1500 5.7 Sport. I have a Midland GMRS 50W installed under my seat. When I am just driving the truck around everything is fine. However when I hook up my RV and drive to my campsite every time (almost) when I key the microphone my dash flashes "Electric Trailer Brake Disconnected" after a little while 15 seconds ish the dash flashes "Electric Brake Connected" I have to add I don't live in Kansas. My last trip was was too and from Three Creek Lake Oregon 6500 feet - Eugene 400 feet, so yes brakes were of a concern. I felt like this was a dash error and did a manual RV brake pump with my hand and felt it working ? So now the weird part. Thinking my 50Watt Midland was pulling to much power was resulting in this issue. But !.. on my way back from my campsite i decided to switch to a Baofeng GMRS handheld to maintain communication with my GF who was following instead . To my surprise it did the same thing ! So now my hand held 4W radio was causing the exact same symptoms .. WTH ?? Be great if someone out there could recreate this issue
