I decided that I didn't like the plastic front bumper on the Sport, especially how low it hung down. I installed these bumpers in my garage with no help. I'm not completely sure that the truck looks as good as it did stock, but I think it will look pretty tough once I get a mild lift installed. I can definitely feel the extra weight out front, so I will need some heavier springs on the front. Tell me what you think, good or bad.20181021_102057.jpg 20181021_102120.jpg 20181021_102142.jpg

Tires and lift are coming next. (And Rigid LED fog lights in front and rear bumpers and winch I will never use and black fender flares and and and...it never stops!)

I like the stock better never have been a fan of the aftermarket bumpers tho.

I think some new wheels with MT aggressive tread tires and a lift will help make them look more like they belong on the truck.

I don't disagree with you. I won't be running M/T tires until this truck is paid off in five years. It's my daily driver, and I can't go too extreme until it isn't. As a matter of fact, I even considered removing these bumpers until I can do the full conversion. Fortunately, the installation of these bumpers does not require any permanent modifications to the truck, and all the original parts are in the top of my shed.

I've always run Toyo Open Country M/Ts but I may look into different options this time. I drive about 2500 miles a month (bought the truck August 8 and already have over 6000 miles). The stock crappy Goodyears should be dead within a year, and have until then to decide on a lift. I want a functional lift and not something that simply makes the truck look good and allows larger tires to fit. Spacers are out of the question. We'll see about M/Ts when the time comes.

I ran kings from thuren but they are not cheap... gave about a 2.5 inch level and rear was stock height but with king reservoirs so really smoothed it out. Honestly that setup it ran smoother than stock but I think that was more the street tune on the shocks.

Are you willing to sell your complete plastic front bumper? Been looking for one to put on my 17 Ram Tradesman.

There are really two problems with this scenario. Number one, I'm not absolutely sure I will be keeping the Go Rhino bumpers on the truck for now. Number two, you are in California, and that front bumper is HUGE, plus it has a huge internal support structure that is as big as the bumper shell itself. If I was willing to sell it, I'm afraid that it would cost at least $200 to ship it, maybe more. I can imagine though that the cost of all the parts inside that bumper really add up. My guess is that you'd be looking at close to $1000 to do a conversion to a Sport front end from a metal bumper.

PS - I already miss my fog lights in the stock bumper, which I had upgraded to the brightest LEDs I have ever seen.

I dig it!

I just lifted my truck and the plastic bumper just doesn’t fit the look to me. I want a tubular baja style bumper, but there aren’t many options other than one or two.

How much more does your new bumper weight over the stock one? looks awesome.

If I had to guess (since I didn't weigh the stock bumper or the new one) I would guess that the stock bumper with all of the structure underneath weighs about 70 pounds and this one probably weighs about 170 pounds. The box it shipped in said it weighed 232 pounds, and that included a long pallet, the box, all the cardboard inside, and a piece of wood in the bottom of the box. The rear bumper probably weighs about 100 pounds.

To answer your original question, I would take the bumpers off until you get a lift and tires.

No way in hell you will get 60k out of a set of coopers. Nitto trail grapplers, yes.

Rotated every 5k miles and easy 60k. No clue about nitto never ran them. Google it tons of people out there like myself getting 60k out of them.

Maybe, we'll see. It was hell to get the bumper aligned properly. I wish Go Rhino had put the alignment pins on their bumper like the stock bumper has so that it locks into the fender. I just spent 3 hours removing the bumper, raising the winch tray, and putting the bumper back on. It's growing on me.

I would love to get that bumper but don't want the added weight.
