I mostly do around town with some highway. Not terribly concerned with mpgs.
I do pull a trailer a couple times a year on a 400 mile round trip, probably around 4-5000lbs.
Tires now are general grabber 33s (never again) too heavy imo. Want to go 35-37 after these.

My question is, I want to go 4.56 gears and a stall converter. I don't know which converter though. Done a little research on here and im seeing mixed reviews. Single plate might be fine but I pull sometimes. But in the next post there's a guy with 700hp running a single.

I don't really care about driveability because I don't drive it that much but I don't want extreme race car either. And it still needs to be able to handle a trailer when I ask it to.

Mods now are:
*superchips dashpaq (barely tell a difference other than transmission shifting)
*Vararam ram air intake (HUGE DIFFERENCE.. everybody needs this)
*3in racelands cut out right behind the rear cat(not sure about performance gains, maybe even hurts a little but damn it sounds good
*synthetic fluids (if you consider this a mod)

Basically what to do I need? Font dif? How hard is it to change a tq yourself? Do I need a custom tune to make it all work?

Ive changed tqs before on old chevys but this is a different animal

You will have to find a pre-2012 front diff to get your 4.56’s in there

What's the purpose of wanting to change the tq? I mean if your not launching off the line or racing I don't think you'll really see much benefit likely more of a waste of money. And the higher stall you go the higher trans temps you'll Have in town.
You'll notice a huge difference in gears night and day! I think your ring gear in the front diff is welded so you'd be needing to swap that to be able to swap the ring and pinion for a 4:55. Personally I'd do gears and spend Alittle bit of money on a custom tune instead of a tq but that's me.

For towing don't exceed 2800 stall........don't do 37's either if towing

Tq is just something I saw on here. Really set on gears but ive heard tq helps. My truck is a toy, originally gonna turn it into a ramrunner but I can't find the parts now.

So I need to find a pre 12 front diff.. where do I find that and what do I need?

I emailed moe's about it but no response yet

I really want a cam and heads just for the noise. Extra hp would be welcome. Those generals killed the truck though. I blame the 3.55s. Which is why I wanna go with 4.56 and get the gearing back down because 1 it'll be easier on the tranny as I add power and 2 because the taller tire feels like it's got a 2.5 ratio now. Get it back short like it needs to be. I dont hit 6th till 70mph now so ive got plenty of gear to lose

Ah that makes sense. I don't thing a tq would be worth the money. You may gain more oomph off the line but hp wise it'd be minimal. Ram runner options ar hard to find but I'm just gonna leave this terrible idea here....https://dirtkingfabrication.com/collections/ram-1500

I was looking at your signature...what tune did you need for that Hellcat sticker? I would love to add that much HP to mine! :)
On a serious note, Pmexpert posted of what it takes to convert from 3.92 to 4.56. Check this out:
https://www.ramforum.com/threads/regearing-3-92-to-4-56-2014-ram1500-4wd.92619/
I thought, this was more detailed, but maybe I am thinking of a different post...

Here is one more with some food for thought:

Haha my sister has a scat pack challenger so she bought me a hellcat sticker and I just stuck it on. Might mess with people lol
