Zaino z5pro with zfx, and use ZAIO as a base. Still the gold standard imo. I know there are new things that are better or last longer that are costly, but these is every day sealants and waxes. Doing a test to see how long it will last against wax, just started- stay tuned. I have no idea how long anything will last, and of course environment is everything, right now there is a layer of ice/frost every day. If anyone is interested, leave me a pm and I will update it. Other wise check with syn thread, or better yet do your own test.

Did different panels on the drivers side, my favorite sealant versus my favorite was, on top of KAIO. Wont know anything for a couple months. Anyhow, had a detailing business for 4 years, only used wax on black and white vehicles, was mutes the paint, makes it look real nice and wet. Zaino or most sealants are more of a mirror shine. I have many sealants still left over from my business, wolfgang is one of them, no very durable. These were the products I tested 1/1/2019. I probably wil post it up in syn thread, process was only wash and aio over the entire passenger side, clear seal x2 on front fender, x5pro/x2pro x2 1 coat each on the door, just aio on irst half of bed, 845x2 back of the bed. No clay no polish, didn't want that to skew the result of beading.

Let me know about your test results. It should be interesting
Thanks

Alright, you gave me some good info, but at this point I'm not going to change the panel I got tested started in the beginning of the year, I'm just gonna do the roof and see what we get from Collinite's. There is a starter of kaio, as I always have zaio or kaio on every detail ever, except when I use a paint gloss and a wax for show cars. This is my process, a more pure process may be a dawn wash and then 2 coats of each, but I don't care this is how I detail for what it's worth. Split the roof in three equal panels, applied in the order of the picture. Probably wont check it again til march. Let's see how the collinites do at 3 mos. I know the truck, this paint does not bead unless there is wax there, it sheets. It will be easy to see what is left say end of march? No washes, no detailing sprays, just gonna let it go.

I put a line between them, I'm worried about 845 after I put it on, the other two cake on a lot better. We will see. Collinite marque d'elegance wax has always been my go to wax. Easy to apply and durable, time will show. I will buff this off with a rotary polisher, then do another coat by hand.

Just found something interesting day one as it is raining today. Next time I will create a thread, but since OP opened door to some discussion I'll post this up. Wow on the difference in the Collinites, I am embarrassed that I didn't test them before. Double coat is a little more work, but worth it. You can see the largest bubbles are the spot in between the coats which is just aio. It is hard to put in word the drastic difference the camera does show it, but man double coat is the way to go if you are just talking about protection. Also, 845 is like one of the smoothest easiest finishes available. As for my other test, CS looks like it is close to failing, but z2/5pro panels has even tighter beads then the double coat. Very happy with double coat, gonna strip the hood and do a test zaino against double coat, two coats of each. I feel that will be the best gauge, but I will leave these other tests to finish out as well. Next time I will start a thread on it. Thanks to pull ya for the info.

I remember when I was detailing using double coat once, and saying boot that too much work. Why would a detailer go through that when marque is easier and put a nicer look. But now looking at it from a protecton stand point and one guy taking care of his stuff, not detailing many many cars a week, the extra work will gain you more protection, this I am confident after today and seeing what Collinte says in it. Soon, we will see how much more protection happens. Thanks again

As a system, I can see using DC as your base and going over a couple/few times a year with 845. I still like some type of aio as a base.

Thanks for running the test--I'm always open to new information and a better way to do things.
