Greatest steps ever made?

I think I have found the greatest steps ever made!

FYI - I am NOT related to this company or sponsored or compensated in any way for this.

I purchased the GoRhino Dominator D6 steps (D64205T) for my 2017 REBEL and after installing them, I think they are AMAZING. They sit very high and tight. I lost ZERO clearance as the steps are still higher than my skid plates. You almost can't even see them from the side. The brackets are very strong and about 1/4 inch thick. I got them from JEGS and got a $50 off rebate, so they cost about $350 after said and done.

There are three brackets on each side (very beefy center bracket). They did take a while to install, but well worth 2.5 hours. I am 240 lbs and I can jump on them without any flex. Not sure how much protection they would give versus rock slider, but they will at a minimum save my rocker panels from more rock chips. They are beefy enough (I think) to take some hits ON rocks, and still protect the cab.

All factory locations used, no drilling. The only PIA was cleaning out the pain from the factory screw holes.

You can't tell from the pics, but the steps stick out no further than my Mopar flares.

Looks like they bolt into the pinch weld of the cab? The only thing I don't like about that is that eventually the bolts will rust and the paint is compromised from the washers digging into it. Eventually that's where the cab will be prone to start rusting. When I had that style on my truck, I upgraded all the hardware to stainless and I placed plastic washers between the steel washers and the paint. I removed them about a year later and the paint under them was still good as new. Just a thought. Steps look pretty solid tho.

I was thinking the same thing. The blots that came with it for the pinch weld are black oxide, but I will likely be swapping to stainless also. I like the idea of plastic washers. They do mount to the pinch welds and the body holes like the OEM steps do.

They look great! I thought they were more expensive, was looking at the tyger steps they were around 400$ , but will have to look at rhino’s as I also like the high & tight fitment & don’t want them to stick out to far.

I was looking at the Tyger steps also. When I saw how high these sat, I was sold. Some places wanted over $500 for these. JEGS had the best price, plus a coupon code right now. Then on the GoRhino site, you put in for the rebate. The steps shipped from GoRhino directly. I ordered may 23rd, and got them yesterday, but I go the rebate (digital MasterCard) a week ago.

It's a shame nowadays how you have to add a disclaimer just because you're recommending a product. Those are nice steps. I like them better than the Enfab one's which were originally my favorite.

I was just looking at these last night. Lol. Thanks for posting. If I can’t get my amp steps to work right and take em off these are my top choice. You confirmed it. That they would look great on my Rebel. With my two tone (black on bottom 1/5th of truck) these would disappear.

Thanks for posting your opinion on how solid they are!

I also need to swap my stock flares for the Mopar riveted flares. Are your flares the Mopar riveted ones?

Love the look of your truck. White was my 1st choice but no one had one with Rambox around here.

Yes, they are the Mopar flares. I really need a bit wider rims or better offset to really fill them, but they stop all rocks and mud from flying up.

Could look into a good hub centric spacer such as supreme suspension or Bora. I got 1.5” ones to put on. They make all different sizes so you can decide how much you need to achieve what you want. I measured 1.5 inches out from my tire and help a level to get an idea of what I wanted...

I've seen these steps before & like the look. The only thing that concerns me about them is the grate style plate & its rust resistance. I've seen so many grate styles that end up with so much rust & look like ***** so quickly, I believe because the plate is so thin? My neighbor has the plastic covered colour matched side step on his late 90s garbage run F150 and while the truck has some rust & fading otherwise, those damn plastic covered steps still look great.

It amazes me that at least a few of the big accessories companies haven't come up with a carbon, poly or graphite covered steel step that can stand up better to stones & winter climates.

I have thought about that, but I am in the process of adding leveling kit soon to the front, and I think that plus the offset of the spaces would be a bit brutal on the ball joints. Eventually, I will be adding the AEV lift for air ride REBELs and when I do that, I will be changing out the rims & tires, but I am waiting for all this crazyness to calm down in the world before I drop an extra $3-4K. We also just purchased a pop up camper, so I really don't want to kill the MPG just yet. On the 800 mile round trip to pick up the camper I got 19mpg and on the way back with the camper I got 17mpg (hand and dash calculated were withing .25 MPG).

Yea we have similar tastes and aspirations for our trucks. I’ve been looking at the BDS kit and just got a quote of $1500-1600 for install. They quoted me $3600 for lift kit (with fox rear shocks) and install.

May go back to idea of level links (perhaps with daystar pucks as not to max out airbags) and 3” body lift: 3” body lift, 1 to 1.5” with links, and 1 inch going up to 35s; that nets me about 5” of total lift all be it not as off-road capable but as I live in IL and my off-roading is getting in and out of deer/bird hunting land so that may be “good enough” when I look at $400-500 vs $3600.

Any updates on these D6 steps performance? We live in rural Nebraska but will be towing a 15" travel trailer to camp in National Forests in CO, SD, WY so some protection PLUS cab access needed, no running boards or steps at all right now.

Don't want to cheap out too much, but real frame mounted rock rails are twice this price (base model too) so these are very attractive! We are fairly spry 60 somethings but hauling up into the 2018 RAM 1500 Crew Cab come winter might get to be a chore.

I am still super thrilled with them. We tow a camper and have travelled all over this summer and still no sign of rust or scratches from rocks. In SD bpack hills I bottomed out once on a trail on some dirt & gravel, and not even a scuff.
