It's definitely not stock or factory. Follow the wires under the dash to see if you can trace it back to something

Do a Google search for KARR Security System. I'm pretty sure that's what it is from using Google Lens app on the image you posted.

If he didn't pay for it then it's disabled per the search I mentioned above. It's just another attempted money grab.

If that's from the factory I'd be surprised. Sh*tty installation. It's obviously installed on the edge of the plastic to avoid drilling a hole. No trim plate?

It's a dealer-installed theft deterrent/tracker.

The dealership makes money two-fold: it lowers the insurance premium for the dealership since active tracking is installed on all new vehicles and they make a crap-ton of money if you pay to have it "activated" for your personal use.

Mine was not so visually obnoxious and had it disabled as I was not going to pay them $1K for that feature.
