I am running 5100's all around. I am curious as to everyones opinion on the ride quality after install. I feel like its a rougher ride for sure. Especially if the road is not almost totally smooth. I feel like I can feel every bump in the road. I am running 35" M/T tires so I'm sure that has something to do with it as well. Just looking for some input on what you guys think. Thanks.

I've got them up front. Set at 2.1" with a 3" body lift and 35 Trail Grapplers. I'd say they ride just like stock, if not better. The extra bumps you're feeling are probably due to the tires.

I have them on all 4 corners too and I'd definitely say that they are a firmer ride compared to stock. In a good way though. They absorb the bumps much more confidently in my experience. Driving down a bumpy dirt road with whoops, pot holes and washboard sections at high speed its definitely a noticeable improvement over the OEM shocks/struts.

It is a firm ride.. I have them on all 4 corners as well. But I do have a 2500 so it rides a little more ruff then the 1500's

I also have them all the way around. Stock size tires also. I think they ride a lot better than the stock shocks. Mostly highway driving.

Both the 5100 and Rancho's entry level are too firm for me, and even worse they don't have very good rebound despite what people seam to say, when you go down in the ditch you seam to stay in the ditch as compared to some other shocks that seam to bounce you out of the ditch. I ran KYB's and those too are firm, but however they are the best rebound shock I ever had, when you go down there is not "flatness" at all, they bounce your truck right out of the ground. Anyone who has ran the KYB and the 5100 will say that, even though some guys still prefer the 5100. I have spent a lot of money and time trying to find the perfect shock and still haven't found it, KYB is the closest, but it still is a little firm for me. We have a lot of pot holes around here, I think something like a Monroe might even be better.

I have the Bilstein HD shocks and I would say they ride nice except constant bumps or cracked up roads they are much harsher and I have not enjoyed that about them. I am not sure who made the stock ones but I would actually like to have them for ride. Bilsteins are better for offload though.

Thats what I was wondering about. I feel like a good series of cracks and bumps in a row kinda beat the crap out of you in the truck with the 5100s.

I believe that the HD is exactly the same as 5100 just different color and not adjustable. So I would expect them to ride the same.

I will probably go back to stock shocks when these wear out.
