Thinking about getting this for my truck. But I don't know if it will suck water in when it rains.

Thats up in the grille, I have a Vararam which goes into the slit at the bottom of the bumper, and I've never had it suck in water. Unless you plan on off roading into radiator high rivers then I don't think you'll have a problem.

How does that work? As in is it just a scoop, does it connect to your stock air box?

Its just a scoop that redirects cooler outside air towards the CAI filter. Its not a "true" ram air system, more of a ram air helper if that and unless you have a filter in the right location to get blasted by it, it wont do much if anything other than helping under hood temps.

Got mine in the garage. Just remembered that i was going to post pics for a member in another thread. Dont know if the scoop helped with the airram cai since i never did any iat logs back then.

I figured you would see a bit more pep from it sucking in cold air.

For any real gains, it would have to be connected to your intake for an actual ram air affect. The concept for the jet scoop is it pushes cooler air into the engine bay and if the filter for the cai is right in the scoops path it would blow colder air on to the filter. It might be close to the same gains seen from adding a powerwire

There was a performance increase from the CAI itself no doubt and he designed the cai to work in conjunction with the scoop. Just not to sure if the temps were any different with the scoop vs without since i did not data-log back then.

With my current setup my IAT never increase over 10* over ambient (random logs over a 2 month period) regardless if sitting/cruising/highway but i will see more when summer temps hit.
