My co-worker just bought a new Jeep Grand Cherokee and is looking to put some low end in it. It has the amplified system with subwoofer already, but he is wanting to lose the stock sub and let me build a system for him. I have done quite a few builds myself, but none with an oem amplifier and sub. I remember when doing some digging putting my system together for my truck, it was a little tougher for the guys with the alpine stock system. We are going to use an lc2i and keep the stock h/u like I did for mine, and a single 12" w6 or similar. I figure it should be the same concept as you guys just adding subs to the stock alpine system in our trucks. Would we be able to just disconnect the sub and tap the signal from the sub wires off the stock amp? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

That's what I did on mine with the alpine system. Just used a line out converter and sent those rca's to the amp I installed.

disconnect the sub and pull signal from there. Check out stereo integrity's sale on the MAGv3 it should give W6 performance for a fraction of the price.

Thanks for the heads up etroze, we will look into that.

jwndriver14, did you tap the sub signal coming into the stock amp or leaving? Just wanting to make sure.
