HBS 2.5" level and PA 3" body lift install

Despite the fact that it's in the 20s here, I can't wait to get the HSB 2.5" level and PA 3" body lift installed...Of course as soon as I get the front end up on jack stands it starts to snow!

ok, got 90% through the install before I ran out of light (problem with doing the work in your driveway).

The only problem I had was I torqued of the end of the sway bar link,,, so had to head to the local auto parts store and buy another one for 50 bucks.

it was a learning experience to be sure...

Gotta finish it up tomorrow and get going on the PA body lift....

Unfortunately it did take me 5 hours... in my defense, I had to wait for it to stop snowing, drive to the auto parts store, and I did the install myself with no helper... getting the strut back in by yourself is a pain...

Actually, got a question about the gap guards that you can buy for the PA body lift... I got 2 pieces but the instruction say I should have 4 pieces? How many pieces did you get?

I noticed that too.

I purchased just the front gap guards (which is all you need. the rear doesn't need any gap guards). I think the instructions are generic instructions

Before and after. Gap guards are a must on the newer Rams. Rear does not need any.

Anything with the body lift that I should look out for?

pull that airbag fuse ASAP, double read all connections that need to be disconnected prior, have a long extension for the impact gun for bed blocks, have a drill for the front bumper brackets and I needed to cut my rear bumper to fit around the hitch bracket, steering extension-make sure that steering wheel is dead center before disconnecting and mark the alignment so your steering wheel isn't crooked after applying the steering extension, LOCTITE EVERYTHING!!

Don't just mark the alignment on the steering wheel. Use something like bungee cords or something to center it and hold it there. When you unhook the steering stem to put in the extension the wheel can free spin and break the clock spring tabs in it that connect your steering controls and if it isn't put in the same place you will get an "esc" light as it senses where the steering wheel is for your electronic stability control.

I had someone there to hold it for a minute while I installed the extension, but bungee cords is a good idea!

What's the secret to getting the body bolts off? They are kicking my ass

Lots of pressure. Heat would help also.

I used a 3ft metal rod over my ratchet to provide more torque. They are a ***** for sure. My air gun couldn't even get em off

I got the metal bar on the ratchet but I'm afraid I'm going to destroy the bolts like I did the sway bar

mine took everything I got, its a risk taking them off

Mine weren't too bad but some we did have to use to metal bar route it is scary at times ripping on them so hard.
