Sounds about right, my AI gauge reads anywhere from 600*-900* for header temp on start up, but when driving its in the 1200*-1500* mark

yea the closet place that i found that does ceramic coating it 3 hours away. and wants $250 to coat a set of v8 longtubes. I cant decide what i want to do. the coated pacesetters have a chrome look and i dont want that. thats why i was thinking powdercoating them to the color i wanted. The good thing with this place is the have over 1000 colors to choose from. Just got to decide if i want to spend the extra to get them coated or just paint the already coated ones.

Check out jethot for coating them. You would have to ship them off but I believe their coating is around 150. Might give them a call and see if they would do a colored coating.

Jet Hot or HPC coating would be the best option for where you live, weather wise.

I used to powdercoat on the side and the powder will flake and burn off due to the temps near the flange. High temp coating I used was good to an advertised 1000F so I would save your money. Check with Eastwood and talk to them about some of their coatings that are DIY. They are always coming up with something new and their manifold coatings work great. Good luck!
