Alright so I bought the BBK (4014) 1-5/8" Chrome Shorty Tuned-Length Exhaust Header https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007V97KHE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 for my 2012 Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi in Oct 2018...I now have a leak on my drivers side and was told to go back to the OEM single stack headers because the single stacks dont give the power I was seeking when I replaced the OEM with these...I also found the JBA Headers Cat4ward Headers 1961S-2JT https://www.summitracing.com/parts/jba-1961s-2jt with thicker flanks but ofc those are way more expensive and I feel the single stacks are better...my question is do I save money and go back to OEM or do people feel the single stacks really do improve performance? I replaced my engine with a rebuilt in Jan 2019 and its still under warranty and costed a pretty penny and I wish to keep my engine in best order possible and appreciate any help!

BBK has a terrible reputation for being a "cheap" alternative. If people here have had good luck with them they are among the very very few. Headers are an area that you truly get what you pay for. Good headers are not cheap, ARH, Stainless, and Kooks are a lot better alternative although they are more expensive--in most cases, lots more expensive.

I'd go the SRT8 6.4 header/manifold. Keep the power plus seal those babies up!

I use aFe 1 3/4" myself. They are hi flo 3" cats y-pipe into a 3.5" downpipe? Dunna know the official name for it. Then Carven R muffler, stock 2 1/4 tails, 5" tips.

Why I like the headers?

Well gobs of power.
Passed emission without setting off the check engine light.
Deal breaker if this couldn't be done.
Gobs of power
Looks freaking cool!
Gobs of power :D

Are they better than the competitors?
Who knows? They work for me.

Oh yeah whichever brand you go with ditch the stock bolts. Get ARP ones! Gaskets are whatever but these damn bolts will dictate whether your doing bolts and gaskets again because NVH rattled them free :banghead: Unfortunately I speak from experience so I offer the lesson to my mistake

I’ll bet I’m older than you! Lol. I turned 60.

I get “noise” and “vibration “.

But what’s harshness? Something that overly responsive?

I'm an old fart, and even I know that! Though I'm a retired engineer in the powertrain industry over 30+ years. Is that cheating?

Harshness is the frequency of noise and mechanical vibration. Human ears and bodies are generally more irritated by higher frequencies.

That'll be $50, please....
