So, the driver's side headlight has developed condensation. I've read several threads here on it. I removed the housing and pulled all 3 caps and checked the filters. I noticed that the inside of the clear looks a little hazy, like a film developed. Has anyone found a way to clean that surface? Maybe something like swishing around some denatured alcohol or ??? I'd like to get it back up to snuff before I put it back together.

TIA!

Definitely don't put anything in there and try to swish it around. I tried alcohol like that and it ruined the inside of the lens. Unless your going to pull it all apart id just leave it.

The condensation is usually caused by the vents being pushed on to tight. Those little caps need to be just barley pushed on for them to vent properly.

Clean and blow out the vent caps.. Use a clear flowable silicone to go around the outside housing seal. Tape a silica pack onto the inside of the cover that you have to remove to gain access to the bulbs. Follow those steps and it should clear up any condensation

If it is Condensation
You can remove the bulbs & dry it out with a Hair Dryer on LOW1742629380955.png

I do not know if there is a way to use DRYER PACKS in the housing ??

Maybe blow some dry nitrogen in there under very low pressure? Wont do anything to clean it, but will certainly take out the moisture.

Thanks all for your replies. This is enough to **** off the pope! I understand about the vent caps, I just couldn't figure out why after owning the truck for almost 9 years that would be the problem. I removed, cleaned, and adjusted the caps anyway. I also put a small amount of 71% isopropyl alcohol in and swished it around. It did help some but I'm still not satisfied. I just looked before typing this post and the condensation is coming back already. I'm going to give this one more shot, trying to seal the outside of the housiing and adding silica packs inside the bulb cover. If that doesn't work I guess I'll start looking for aftermarket housings.

Allow a few days after adjusting the caps, resealing etc. to see improvement. When I did mine it didn't appear to work but after a week all the condensation was gone and it hasn't returned.
