So the wiring is confusing me. Tried to watch RetroShops YouTube and still don’t get it all. Can anyone tell me what plugs in where with the pictures below? Seems like I have to many wires.

That's a mess. No instructions?
B is your ballasts and ignitors.
Not sure about all the rest.

A- canbus adapters
B- HID ballast
C- projector headlight adapter harness
D- relay harness for the hid's.

If you have alfaobd you can eliminate A and D

none what so ever. The YouTube video says it’ll come with instructions but I have none. I emailed them the pictures for some guidance on what to do. I honestly figured it would be a plug and play thing. Didn’t know it was this involved.

I looked at the Alfa page. Seems like something else I’ll have to buy?

Yes. Depending on what year truck you have all you'll need is a android device or windows laptop

Alfaobd $49 Google play store or download through alfaobd.com

If you plan on doing basic changes any elm327 based obd2 reader will work ~$15

If you have a 18+ you'd need the security bypass cable that kaotech.com sells for $50.

Enabling hid/led's through alfaobd eliminates the need for canbus adapters and extra harnesses when running hid's and led's. These items have a tendency to create problems and are cumbersome to hide.

So after emailing Jeremy at RetroShop, he was able to give me some guidance on what to do. I got everything all hooked up and it works! However, there are 3 issues. 1) He said to hook the add a fuse to the sunroof fuse to make the DRLs work. However, I do not have a sunroof and when I used that spot, the DRLs do not work unless I cut the parking lights on. 2) The passenger side it aimed downward a whole lot more than the driver side. I'm hoping this is something I can fix with the adjustment knob on the back. Just have to take the light back out which sucks when its so cold out. 3) This is the most annoying part. But, I understand that things happen when you take lights apart and modify them. I had him add the switchback DRLs/turn signals. The passenger side DRL is only showing on the bottom unless you take a knee and look up at an angle. So it looks half full. I emailed him and hopefully he will get this fixed for me. HOPING he will just redo a light and send it to me and I can send this one back instead of having to send this back, fix, and send back because I cannot have one headlight missing for 3 weeks or so. Anyways, they look great without those issues lol I've attached some pictures. I'll try to get some light output photos later in the week.

Straight on. You can see passenger side DRL looks half off on the top.

Driver side DRL looks full.

Passenger side DRL straight on shows top half dark.

Passenger side taking a knee with upward photo which shows the lights are there. Just angled wrong.

You should be able to adjust the lights same as factory without removing them. There is a hole in the top of the fender that the adjustment point is located. I cant remember what is needed, I believe it's a small hex head (maybe 7mm or so) and also the option to use a torx bit, but I cant confirm that. Just look in the little holes on top of the fender behind the headlight and you should see it.

Yea it stressed me so much last night I dug around online and found a good YouTube video about it. Hopefully it’ll be a quick fix. I haven’t heard from RetroShop yet about the DRL being messed up so that’s still stressing me. Hoping he will send a replacement one so I won’t have to drive around for 3-4 weeks with no headlight in. But I trust he will do me right.

So after getting the switchback fixed I installed the lights and they looked great. Still need to adjust the beams. However, today I took it for a good hand wash since it’s been raining so much lately. And what do you know....condensation all inside. Half of each damn light was fogged over. I was shaking mad. $1,615 later. I’m hoping there’s a way to fix this but I’m about at the point to having them refund me and going elsewhere. I shouldn’t be paying for faulty merchandise. Here are some pics after the 15 min drive home. The condensation obviously went down a lot but it was all the way past both turn signals at first.

Sorry for your fiasco, at this point I'd get my money back if possible.

They emailed back stating that it was normal since there was a temperature change. However, I never had this happen with the old lights. Stated since the headlight was warm and the cold water hit it, it caused fogging and will go away. But it was maybe 50 here and the water wasn’t much colder. So I’ll give it another wash or two and see what happens. At least I started a paper trail with the email and photos.

After my retro fit a couple years ago I had fogging too. Drilled in a couple 1/4” stick on vents. The next winter they were way better and barely fogged. This year it’s pretty much gone completely. You can also run a bead of clear silicone around where they are sealed up once they are fully dried out indside.
