Good morning

I just installed a pair of practically new dual headlight style OEM headlights, adjusted them last night and noticed how warm these lenses on these things get while on. Should I wax these things to keep the lenses looking new or what other options do I have? My original headlights turned yellow in 2017 and I bought some Chinese made headlights which peel and I decided to get the OEM this time and learn how to polish these things when they get weathered. Thanks for any responses.

I use Meguiars Quick Wax as a drying aid. The headlights get a coat each wash

I'd use one of the new ceramic hybrid waxes.
They also make clear vinyl film to cover them, but I'd go with the wax myself.

I put a sealant on mine. It doesn't really help with the road sandblasting, chips etc, but the bugs come off easier. Also do the grill for the same reason. If it blocks uv it should help with yellowing. Polishing them once it starts to yellow helps only short term I found, but with the price of headlight I can understand getting as many years as possible out of them.

Good idea, I have purchased a really good condition second set of OEM headlights for $160 shipped to me as a back up, price was too good to pass on them. Figure in the future these things will become rare to find, the cheap Chinese made lights are garbage and peel after about a year of use.
