Headlight shorted out

‘14 Ram 1500 Express. Drivers side lowbeam light is shorted out. I’ve replaced the wiring harness from the bulbs to the plug and it didn’t fix it. If I squeeze the wiring harness into the plug the light will come on but as soon as I release pressure it shuts off. And by plug I mean past the wiring harness toward the computer/battery(not sure where it leads), not the plug in the headlight housing to the bulb.
Any insights or solutions would be very helpful. Dealership wants to charge me $1000+ to fix it by replacing the whole headlight and truck computer and I said kiss my ass.

Check the pins in the plug sounds like its loose. If you move it around and it works it's just a contact issue

How would I go about getting a new plug? Do you know what that part would be called? I assume it’d be fairly cheap

Check to make sure the connector is in tact and the lock isn’t broken, preventing it from staying plugged all the way in. It’s most likely that or corrosion on the terminals.

You can check w the dealer see if they sell the full pigtail if not you can just re pin the loose connector. Also find an automotive electrical shop they can do it fast and probably cheap if you arent comfortable with it

The repair kit that the dealer sells is $45. The links I posted are the actual manufacturer part numbers that Mopar rebrands as their own, except WAY cheaper. Also, with the repair kit, you’re left with splicing in the pigtail, rather than cutting the old terminals off and crimping new ones on.
