Hey guys, I was attempting a headlight lens swap today and I’m somewhat stumped. It appears that I need a different type of adapter/harness on the truck end to fit the new head light bulb(the red arrow) on the replacement lens, the turn signal just fits right into the same adapter so that’s good. I was thinking it was gonna be a quick easy swap but now I’m thinking some more forethought is in order. Can anyone give me some insight on this? Do I need buy a new headlight plug/harness on the truck end and splice it in to fit the new bulb? Also what’s the deal with my old lens having 1 bulb for both high and low beam and the new one being 2 separate bulbs?

This is the old bulb and plug setup. It almost seems as if the black part inside the green part can come out and it would fit the plug on the new lens. However I’m a little hesitant to go prying on things if they’re not meant to be separated

Are you swapping dual headlights for quads?

It is a direct swap. The black part needs to come out of the green plug. There is a red locking tab that pulls back and another tab you press down. it should come out. May take a little effort. The turn signal bulb and socket get swapped over to the new headlight.

what he said^^^ we must have been replying at the same time
Looks like the bulb base came apart. That black part should come out of the green plug. Then it should plug into the harness on the truck.

In related news, do they sell these stupid little push clips at normal auto stores? I didn’t know if they were usually universal.
