1995 Dodge Dakota v6. The heater will not get hot all hoses have been checked all are clear and open the heater core is clean. All of the duct work is working properly. The thermostat has been changed twice. When cranked there is no water coming out of the spigot from the water pump even though all lines are clear and free. The only thing I know now is the water pump. What I do not understand if its the water pump is not pumping water through the heater hoses why is the truck not running hot. What do you think do I need to put a new water pump on here that's the only thing left that I know of. Thanks

You said all hoses are clear? Maybe the water pump port is plugged, did you pull the cap while running to see if water is circulating?

Yup water circulating in radiator. Got me puzzled. You can take both hoses off of the heater core you can blow through one hose and hot water comes out the other hose then you can turn around and do it vice versa. You can take the hose off with the truck running no water going through it I don't know man

If you say everything is clear... the only thing I can think of would be a bad WP, you could have busted impeller blades which would not allow the cooling system to build proper pressure. Once at operating temp are the upper AND lower radiator hoses hot? Maybe not enough coolant or air in the system.

I'm sure someone will be here shortly to help you better.

Nah you covered it pretty well. My vote is probably air in the system.

I just don't see it being air locked but it could be. How would I go about getting all the air out of it?

Checked circulation aging sped motor up water moving. I did see some air bubbles here and there.

I know for a fact nothing is stopped up we done flush, blew, and everything else water going threw heater core, lines and back three water pump and out both hoses when blown threw.

The temp gauge goes from normal to med, to cold, to normal it's all over the place.

Top hose hot bottom hose warm on radiator Hell I don't know other than pump but if that's the case wouldn't that make the motor run hot? This truck has really ran on the colder side since I have owned i

Elevate the radiator above the heater core, most people drive the truck up on ramps and burp it there to help any trapped bubbles out. As much as the system has been opened and the erratic temperature behavior, air in the lines is sounding more and more reasonable.

You can also add squeezing the upper radiator hose while running to get things started, (that's what I had to do at least).
