Was doing some work under the hood today (Spark Plugs) when I noticed the red locker lever wasnt fulle seated on the PCM connector. Opened it up, seated the connection and went to close the red tab, and it broke off. The pivot points on each side of the connector must have been very brittle, and they broke right off.

Is there a way to replace just the connector? Not sure how to fix this? Help and input needed!

Only way to fix that is to get another pig tail and splice it in.

All the ones that I have like that one are busted too and I haven’t done anything except check them every once in a while to make sure their still seated.

Any way to snake a zip tie behind it to keep it from falling off while driving?? It's not the prettiest solution, but easier than splicing on a new connector.

Bad part is now the service department will think you've been messing with the pcm…

You can super glue it, then take it to the shop n say it’s acting funny, then they’ll touch it and break it, then they (should) fix it.

Actually, I doubt they’ll even look under the hood, they’ll just plug in their computer and say, sorry can’t find anything!

I got a zip tie on there (thanks for the suggestion) it seems to be on there pretty good, I don't think it's going anywhere. I will just have to keep checking on it.382cf7d707a9c7770c4892f50f66e244.jpg

There is a replacement connector available, somebody posted a link to it on one of the truck facebook pages awhile ago,but I didn't pay much attention to which page it was on,or where to get the connector, but you should be able to google it.Think it was under 20 bucks, but don't quote me on that.

That's pretty cheap, is that piece just the "plactic cover" of the connector? So to replace, you do not need to be splicing any of the wires or anything right?

Yeah just the plastic cover with the red lever which operates the blue and green sliding locks on the harness. No splicing required.

The broken cover comes off by depressing the plastic tab on top of the cover and cutting the zip tie on the bottom. Once it’s off it’s pretty straight forward putting the new one on. You just have to make sure the harness is in the locked position, i.e both green and blue locks engaged (up position). Make sure the gears on the red lever align with the blue and green locks as the lever will need to be in the locked position too. Cover will then click into place. I used another zip tie on the bottom just wished it looked liked the oem one. Also, you can easily move the blue and green locks up or down with a small screwdriver.

Down from the top, or if the red clip comes completely off you can get to the front side of the blue and green tabs to slide them down. I found it easiest to unbolt the ECU and bend it down to push straight in with a small flathead. Then replace the red clips from Mouser if you break them off.

Just bought one of these from mouser like 5 minutes ago. My red cover broke back in March of 2023 and my OCD can't take it anymore. Should be here in a few days.
