I need some assistance. After installing the ITBM (Integrated Trailer Brake Module) and then using the AlfaOBD to initiate the ITBM/HWM integrated trailer brake module there was success. However, here is where I need some assistance, after returning 10 minutes later to set the next setting up in CustSetMenu-2 for Trailer Selected CSM, and additional tries for Trailer Name CSM and Trailer Type CSM, I received a message “The option is not supported by the body computer modification.” Anyone know how to get past this so I can activate these last 3 so my tow brakes will work without a trip to the dealership? Much appreciated.

What radio do you have ? Somewhere in the 1000+ page alfaobd thread somebody surmised these settings are only for the factory touchscreen radios. Did you check if the ITBM shows up in the EVIC ?

Hi csuder99,
thanks for responding
Per my build sheet it has the UConnect 3C NAV with 8.4 display with the touch screen. I don’t see it in the EVIC but AlfaOBD indicated that ITBM/HWM is installed under the P/T Chassis Net. I just can’t get the the settings under Cust Set Menu -2 to be recognized to turn on without getting the above message in my first post. My understanding is that these 3 must be turned on for it to show in the EVIC, but I could be wrong.

It's not going to be of much help but I was curious and on my 2013 none of the CustSetMenu items appear to work either. Same message.

I did find out the trailer brake does work, but it doesn’t come up on the 8.4 radio for programming different trailer types. At least it shows up in the dash and I can set sensitivity

I just bought a ram in Australia and if you have the factory the 4 settings work light electric, heavy electric and so on. But if you do a dealer/factory upgrade which is an alpine radio it gets stuck on light electric. is there away to fix this.

You should be able to use AlfaOBD to change the trailer type, but I'm not sure if you modify the BCM configuration so that the settings show up in the dash EVIC.

I'm guessing this is an aftermarket Alpine radio? The factory Alpine system uses the same 8.4 radio as the base audio system but has an external amplifier to drive the speakers and subwoofer.

I would ask the dealer or email Alpine about if the settings in the trailer brake settings are possible in the radio.

I recently bought the Mopar brake module for my 2019 Classic 1500. Is it easier to buy the OBD programmer or get dealer to program it?

Hey Team, I have a 2017 1500 Laramie, I have installed and programmed the ITBM. It shows in both the Alpine radio and the EVIC. My problem, is the the factory 4 pin connector I use for my small trailer, doesn’t work anymore. This can’t be normal. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks Team
