Help me choose tire size. 305/55 or 275/65?

Truck is 2019 Ram 1500 Bighorn 2wd. It has factory +1" suspension. Factory 275/60/20 XL tires.

I can run 305/55/20 w/o issue I know. But I also like the tad more ground clearance of 275/65/20(34s)

Tell me the pros and cons you have found out on your trucks if you run either of these tires please.

I know going to 10 ply is gonna hurt mileage.
Will the 305s weight/width or the 65s(34") height be more detrimental to gas mileage.
Any steering issues (wandering) with going to wider tire?

Anyone had both? Wished you got the other after buying one?

Height is a bigger killer to gas mileage then weight is because height changes effective gearing from engine to ground. Good tires will not have any unwanted wandering. That’s usually bad tires or bad alignment.

I really like the looks of a 305. Was wondering if it's extra weight/wider contact patch and 33.4" would use more or less fuel than the 34" 65 series. All I can find in those 2 sizes are 10 ply. Seems like the 6 ply ceased to exist.
