Been shopping wheels and tires for my 16 Laramie, will have bilsteins set at 2.1 soon.
Im not looking for much past flares so i was set on 20x9 0 offset with 305/55 nitto g2s.

Procomp makes a 20x9.5 -6 offset so the wheel itself would only stick out ½" more then the 20x9.
Now its got me thinking to go with this wheel and run the 275/65 nitto g2 which can be had in the non load range E also. Lighter by a few pounds, more sidewall for a softer ride maybe? Fills wheelwell better?

This is the procomp wheel anyway, nice deep lip! Lemme know what you all think!

Is it a 2wd? If so, I'd probably just use the stock 275/60/20 as they make that tire in that size, and is noticeably cheaper than the other two sizes you mentioned, especially the 305/55. A 275/65/20 is a 34" tire, so unless you have at least a front leveling kit, you'd be better off with a 33" tire.

Would a 275/65 or even 305/55 rub anything with a 20x9.5 -6 offset? I guessing no being the wheel would stick out 1.25" more then stock. With level kit of course.

Nice i like it. Wish that tire came in a regular load rating and not E.
I like the 275 on a wider wheel but wouldnt go past 9.5, i like the 305 but it may stick out too far with the 9.5 wheel specs.
The 275 may give a better ride but the 305 may look better being wider! I just dont know which way to go!

I'm running the P metric 305/55 Ridge Grapplers. They're pretty nice, but I did lose some MPG, if that's important to you. I'm considering something a little narrower next time.

By the way, they're mounted on 0 offset 20x9" rims with no rubbing, on 1.4" Bilsteins.

Thanks! I figure im gonna lose mpgs with any tire but prolly less going 275/65 vs 305.
I figure the 275/65 with 9.5 and -6 offset wheel would be about the same as a 9 wide 0 offset wheel with 305s as far as how far it sticks out.

I have been kicking around the same question. I think I am going to go with the 275/65r20. I like the look of the taller tire. Our trucks are seriously under tired and going with a taller tire really helps the look.

Should be good to go anyway you choose. I'm running 305 on 20X10 -19. Bils @ 2.1. No rub whatsoever. Wheels are flush with pocket flares. Will probably go 33x12.5 next go around.

I dont wanna go too wide or stick out too far, trying to at least keep the tread of the tire flush with flares.
Hows the road manners with a 305 vs a 275?

They honestly feel just as smooth as the stock Goodyears. The wider track handles better on cornering coupled with the Bils, definitely dont feel like the truck leans the way it did stock. I'm running the Falkens on mine though. My previous Ram I was running 35X12.5 BFG on a 20X9. Not sure on the offset of the used wheel I bought but wasn't much. Had to put a 1.5 inch spacer on to get it flush with pocket flares.

Wouldn’t run a 305 on a 9” wide wheel, if you want the wide tire look go 10”. Sidewall flex is useful in certain applications, but not on a daily with lower profile. 35x11.5 tires are becoming a more common option, they usually sit just over 34” actual height with Lt truck inflation.

Thanks for the info.
10" wheels have too neg offset for what im after so im looking at 9 or 9.5 for either 275 or 305.
I gotta make my mind up on a wheel! Lol

@Luau_Pig , you have stock flares and the 20x10 -19 is flush?

10" -24 offset wheels are flush with the top radius of 4th gen OEM flares.

Here’s my old setup with 13” wide tires, the 275s on now are even again

Yes, sorry don't have any direct front still shots but you're more than welcome to check out my YT channel or custom offsets gallery has a bunch with similar setup.
