Ok so got great news last week that my truck was in F-paint (ordered 9/28). Yesterday I got this email from him.

You are shipped!

So don’t get to excited yet. The factory has rerouted the trains away from El Paso. The rail is moving but moving slow…. But we are shipped. As soon as it gets through customs we will be really moving.

I heard El Paso was closed due to COVID a few weeks ago and that would delay possibly my truck. What is El Paso and it’s significance? Would my truck go through EP and then routed to Washington or now that it is shipped “away” from EL where would it go through?

TIA

The most I know is that El Paso is a central change point with the Mexican railroad. You should check in a train forum, I am sure someone would know all about automotive shipments through there and how it works. Good luck!

Not a train guy but a truck driver, the Texas POE for rail/truck are the main routes for all rail/truck traffic with 2-5 times the amount of traffic. so any shutdown will overwhelm the smaller POE

That makes sense. I was wondering it it would go through Az or Ca.
