I'm meeting up with a guy tomorrow to look at a 1996 ram 2500 long bed 4x4
It has the 8.0 v10
Perfect paint no fading
No rust
2 inch lift
Brand new tires
The interior looks pristine so I'm guessing it was we'll taken care of
They are asking 3500 I'm thinking I can get it for around 2800
The only issue is it has 255,000 miles
Assuming it was well taken care of and not rodded or anything how long do,you see the v10 lasting
Do you feel 2800 is a reasonable price for a long bed v10 with no current issues
He says runs and drives perfect
Thanks in advance

Absolutely. Actually it's kinda worrying how good of a price that is. The V10s aren't that common. And that price is lower than a 1500 in worse shape would sell for around here.
Maybe it is the high miles driving the price down. But if it was taken care of miles don't make much of a difference

$2800 is a fair price if it is in good shape. V10s are pretty cheap and common down here. CCLB/QCLB even cheaper.

Ok great thanks here's the ad incase anyone's interested in seeing pictures
The ad says 4000 but I've already talked him down on his price to the 2800.

I mean only issues I can see are small rips on the side of the drivers seat ( common and cheap to fix ) and a crack in the back of the dash you normally wouldn't even see. So those aren't too big of an issue
I would take off the headache rack... Because I'm not a fan of them on anything but that way I can also sell that and get some of my money back

The only thing I know of with the V10 are the oil pumps going out on a very few. Thats all I have seen in 6 years of forums.

Replaced a few oil pumps myself and catalytic converters.
