Hello all Still love my Dodge! My truck is a 2004 Ram 3500 Cummins 5.9 turbo. Automatic, regular cab, REAR WHEEL DRIVE ONLY.

So I think my hub in the front is going out in the front. The OEM parts are unavailable from the dealer.

The OEM part numbers I got from the dealer are as follows:

Front: 52010206AD

Rear: 5083727AA

So anyway, I find a Timken hub on eBay that cross references my OEM part # in the title of the ad:

Timken SP550104

Ebay, however says this part does not fit my truck even though I've double checked my vehicle profile there. The eBay fit guarantee doesn't apply if their system says the part wot't fit, so I hesitate to buy it.

RockAuto identifies Timken SP550103 as being the correct part for my truck...

So, can anyone tell me the difference between Timken SP550103 and Timken SP550104, and tell me which one I need?

If you happen to have the part number for the rears I'd really appreciate that as well.

Thanks in advance, been a while since I've posted, hope you're all doing good.

Tony

The part number that ends in 3 is for 2003-05 trucks, the one that ends in 4 is for 2006-08 trucks

This website was the first to pop up with the difference between the two part numbers.

A good guess is there's something different about the wheel speed sensor.

Wow that site you found is has prices under half of the ones I found. And they clearly identify the years.

I’ll call them up and check it out.

Awesome find thank you!

Most likely the ABS connectors are different. Like that from 2005 and 2011 Ram 1500 Timken bearings. Both the fit, connectors different.

Hey all got the hub bearing, everything apart and getting ready to put back together.

Please excuse the ignorance, but should I put a film of oil on the bearing where it mates to the steering knuckle, or instal dry?

I do intend another cleaning in any case, but it seems dry when I pulled it, and it’s been there since 2004…

Really appreciate all the advice. I know it seems like a really small detail but I’m trying to do it right.

Thank you

Clean it with some emery cloth, wipe it out, put a very thing film of anti-seize. Should pop right out next time (if there is one).
